Manchester United's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney is featuring in a new Amazon Prime documentary.

The must-watch programme is streaming from Friday and is certain to prove popular with all Reds supporters who appreciate the great service the former England captain gave to the club.

Former team-mates such as Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand and David Beckham also feature on the show, providing insight into the current Derby County manager's personality and world-class ability.

Described as a warts-and-all account, it covers Wazza's brilliant career and does not shy away from some of the controversies that dogged him during this time, on and off the pitch.

Simply entitled 'Rooney', Wayne hopes it will paint a clearer picture of his true character, rather than the one that is sometimes wrongly portrayed in the media.

"I wanted to be honest and touch on everything that has happened in my life, which is important," he said. "If I do it and I am not honest or I don't speak about things, it wouldn't be real. So it was about me coming out and people seeing me and my family for who we are and not what is being portrayed of us as a family.

"I want people to have a better understanding of me as a person really."

Amazon Prime subscribers will be able to watch the documentary from Friday.

The service costs £7.99 per month and potential customers can also sign up to a free 30-day trial before paying the monthly fee.

Wayne was also a special guest on UTD Podcast telling some fascinating tales in 2020. Check out some of the video clips below...
