Confirmed: Our new home kit's first match

Monday 01 July 2024 11:35

Manchester United’s adidas home kit for 2024/25 was released on Monday morning, so you may be wondering: when will it be worn in a match for the first time?

The answer is on Monday 15 July, exactly two weeks from now, when our men’s team begin pre-season with a friendly clash against Rosenborg in Trondheim, Norway.

Ahead of that fixture, you can get your hands on the new jersey – the first to feature Snapdragon as our main shirt sponsor – now, via United Direct and at the Old Trafford Megastore.

Erik ten Hag’s team will make the trip to Scandinavia for the first of the five pre-season friendlies on our schedule, with tickets for those matches on sale here, subject to availability.

The games will also be broadcast live on MUTV, starting with the Rosenborg fixture in a fortnight’s time (17:00 BST kick-off).

A visit to Edinburgh follows, with Rangers the opponents at Murrayfield (20 July), before the Reds jet off to the United States to continue preparations for the new term with three outings on Tour 2024.

Our latest Stateside showdown with Arsenal is first up in Los Angeles (28 July), ahead of a duel with La Liga side Real Betis in San Diego (1  Aug) and a reacquaintance with Liverpool in Columbia (4 August).

The competitive campaign is then due to get under way on Saturday 10 August at Wembley Stadium, as we face Premier League champions Man City in the Community Shield, just under a week in advance of our league opener at home to Fulham on the following Friday (16 August).
