Confirmed: Squad numbers for Riviere and Cascarino

Monday 23 January 2023 17:00

The squad numbers of Manchester United Women’s new signings, Jayde Riviere and Estelle Cascarino, have been made official.

The pair’s moves to United were confirmed on Saturday and their arrivals bolster Marc Skinner’s squad for the second half of the campaign.

Both Riviere and Cascarino were then with the Reds at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Sunday to watch our 1-0 win over Reading in the WSL.

Our new additions still await their United debuts, and ahead of those potential outings, their squad numbers have been confirmed.
Riviere is United Women's new no.14.
Canada international Riviere, who joined the Reds on a permanent deal on Saturday, will wear the no.14 jersey at United.

The shirt was most recently occupied by former Red Jackie Groenen, who donned the number during her time at the club between 2019 and 2022, but it has been vacant since her departure in September.

Before Groenen, ex-United midfielder Charlie Devlin sported the no.14 during our women’s team’s first professional season in 2018/19.
While Riviere will have the 14, French midfielder Cascarino will represent United with no.29 during the course of her half-season loan spell from Paris Saint-Germain.

The number is yet to be worn by a member of our women’s team, and therefore Cascarino is set to be the first player to do so in a match when she makes her debut for the club.
Cascarino will be the Reds' no.29 during her temporary spell.
