Who has been United's fastest player this term?

Manchester United have some quick players within our squad and one of them has recorded the fifth-best speed of anybody in the Premier League this season.

Diogo Dalot is the man in question, clocking an impressive 35.76 km/h during his excellent opening to the campaign.

The figure means he is the fastest defender in the English top-flight in 2022/23 and has a better sprinting time than any of his United colleagues, despite many rapid Reds being at Erik ten Hag's disposal, particularly in attack.

Everton's Anthony Gordon leads the way, with an eye-catching 36.61 km/h, which places him narrowly ahead of a player from the other part of Merseyside, in Liverpool's recent recruit Darwin Nunez.

Erling Haaland of Manchester City and Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli are the only other individuals to record quicker times than Dalot during the first part of the Premier League season.

Dalot had been in third spot when the data was previously released in October.

Our right-back has been a regular under Ten Hag, making 20 appearances and scoring with a header in the Europa League win over Sheriff Tiraspol at Old Trafford.

The defender, who has contributed much in defence and attack, is set to feature at a World Cup for the first time, when Portugal take on Ghana in Group H this afternoon (Thursday).

Diogo Dalot has been the fastest Red in the Premier League this term.

After scoring twice in the UEFA Nations League tie with Czech Republic in September, the 23-year-old has also proved valuable for Portugal.

Indeed, he also provided an assist for Bruno Fernandes's opener in the warm-up game with Nigeria last week and looks in peak form ahead of his nation's big kick-off in Qatar.
