Monday 30 January 2023 18:38

Manchester United Women will play at home to Durham in the fifth round of the Vitality Women's FA Cup.

The Reds defeated Championship side Sunderland 2-1 yesterday and will now face another second-tier side, in a tie set to take place on Sunday 26 February.

This season's last-16 fixtures were drawn live on the BBC's Sportsday show this evening, with United as ball no.6.

See how the action unfolded as United Women travelled to Durham in the Conti Cup...

United have already faced Durham in the Continental League Cup this season, with the group-stage encounter ending 2-2 after 90 minutes, before our opponents won an extra point after triumphing in the subsequent penalty shootout.

It will be our third meeting with the Wildcats in the last two seasons, after we also faced them in the 2021/22 League Cup - Durham were victorious on penalties once more, after another 2-2 draw in normal time.

Over the weekend, Nikita Parris scored twice as United kicked off our campaign in this season’s FA Cup with a win at Sunderland.

Victory against Durham would secure a quarter-final berth and match our best run in the competition since the team’s reformation.
