What is Kicking Off

Kicking Off with Sam Homewood and Danny Webber

What is 'Kicking Off'?

Kicking Off is a brand new interactive show, which you can watch only in the Official Manchester United App.

Screened live on Thursdays at 18:30 BST, it's hosted by Sam Homewood and features a panel of passionate United fans who express their opinions in a bid to impress you - the app viewers - and avoid being voted off in our polls.

There are four rounds, in which three video-callers have 30 seconds each to speak about a certain topic - such as VAR decisions, the starting XI for United's next game or the best fan chants they've heard in the stands.

It's then up to the viewers to decide who they agree with most; the caller with the fewest votes then has to leave the panel and is replaced for the next round as the half-hour show unfolds.

Each week, Sam is joined in the studio by a special guest - a former player like Danny Webber or Wes Brown - who referees the debate and has the power to bring back a caller who's been kicked off, if they disagree with the viewers' decision.

The video-caller who earns the most votes in the fourth and final round is declared the overall winner of the show, receives a special United-related prize and returns the following week to defend their debating crown.

United fans play two vital roles in Kicking Off - either as video-callers expressing their views on screen or as viewers watching and voting on the app.
