Entry

1. Manchester United Football Club Limited (“MU”) (whose registered office is Old Trafford, Sir Matt Busby Way, Manchester M16 0RA) is the promoter of the Maui Jim Spring/Summer campaign (the “Promotion”). The Promotion is sponsored by Maui Jim, Inc. (“Maui Jim”)

2. By purchasing the Product entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and the terms and conditions of sale and website terms of use found here (the “Conditions”) and confirm that all information submitted is true, accurate and complete. MU reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any and all entrants and may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any entrant that fails to satisfy the eligibility requirements. Entrants shall at all times act in good faith towards MU and the Promotion.

3. Employees of MU and/or Maui Jim and/or any of its associated companies or subsidiaries (and their families) are excluded from entering the Promotion.

4. Entry into the Promotion is free (except for any applicable data usage charges) and on the basis of one entry per person.

5. In order to enter the Promotion and be part of a virtual meet and greet with a Manchester United first team player, entrants must purchase any Maui Jim sunglasses (the “Product”) from United Direct (the “Main Entry”).

6. The Promotion will close at 23:59 BST on Thursday 31 August 2023 (the "Closing Date") and any entries received after the Closing Date will not be entered into the Promotion. The Promotion will take place as soon as reasonably practicable following the Closing Date. 

7. Any purchases made after the Closing Date will not be entered. The virtual meet and greet will take place as soon as reasonably practicable following the Closing Date.

Prize

8. Subject to paragraph 9 to 19, the prize will consist of a virtual meet and greet with a Manchester United Men’s First Team player (the “Prize”).

9. MU reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another of a similar nature at any time.

10. MU cannot guarantee who the Manchester United first team player taking part in the virtual meet and greet will be and MU will not enter into any correspondence with any of the entrants regarding the identity of the player taking part in the virtual meet and greet.

11. The virtual meet and greet will last for up to 15 minutes. 

12. The Prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.

13. MU reserves the right to substitute the Product with another of a similar nature or equivalent or greater value at any time. 

14. The Product is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.

Conditions of participating in the virtual meet and greet:

15. The virtual meet and greet will take place through a video sharing platform of MU’s choice, and it will start at a time and date and be for a duration specified by MU and communicated to successful entrants.

16. MU reserves the right to disable the connection between any entrant and the platform used to feature the virtual meet and greet if, in MU’s absolute discretion, it considers that: (i) someone is acting offensively or inappropriately; (ii) someone has gained unauthorised access; and/or (iii) if someone is considered to be using the platform to promote the interests of a third party or their own goods or services.

17. Anyone who receives a space and chooses to participate as part of the virtual meet and greet:

(i) must have access to the video sharing platform chosen by MU which may have applicable terms and conditions which the ticket holders may be required to accept; and

(ii) shall not be permitted take any screenshots, photographs or video recordings during the Event.

18. MU shall have no responsibility to anyone who purchases the Product if the virtual meet and greet is postponed, cancelled or delayed for any reason.

19. Anyone who is allocated a space is expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times during the virtual meet and greet.

Footage of the Event and the virtual audience:

20. By entering by purchasing the Product, you agree to, acknowledge and accept that:

(i) we may record, take footage and screenshots of the virtual audience at any and all times and that as a space holder, you may feature in the video recording, footage or images (the “Content”);

(ii) we own the Content and all intellectual property rights in it;

(iii) we may use the Content however we choose, for example, but without limitation, we may use the Content in conjunction with other third-party content and/or use the Content as part of MU’s commercial campaigns;

(iv) we do not guarantee that the Content will be used and/or featured during the Event or for any other purpose and, we cannot guarantee that you will feature in it;

(v) if we do choose to use the Content (in whole or in part) then we may do so anywhere in the World, on any media including, but not limited to, on our webpages (including but not limited to www.manutd.com), any of our social media channels, on our MUTV channel and at any physical location (for example, banners, posters and digi-boards); and

(vi) we may or may let other people use, reproduce, modify or edit the Content or make things inspired by it for us.

Winner

21. There will be one (1) winner of the Prize Draw. The winner will be the first person selected at random from all valid Promotion entries received on or before the Closing Date (the “Winner”). The Winner will receive the Prize. 

22. MU will make reasonable efforts to contact the Winner via email after the Closing Date. If the Winner does not claim their Prize within 14 days of MU making contact with the Winner or if the Winner is unable or unwilling to accept the Prize, or if the Winner does not meet the eligibility requirements, subsequent draws will take place until a new winner is found who is able, willing and eligible to accept the Prize.

23. Only the Winner will receive notification from MU. The Winner will be notified by email as soon as practicable after the Closing Date. Following the draw, the Prize will be communicated to the Winner. MU may also pass the Winner’s details to its partner, Maui Jim, so that Maui Jim may assist with organising the Prize.

24. The Winner will be required to give their consent to the following: (i) their surname and country (or county if they are UK residents) to be disclosed to any person requesting that MU confirms the identity of the Winner, or for promotional purposes and; (ii) for the Winner’s details to be passed to Maui Jim and/or their agent for fulfilment of the Prize. The Winner may raise any concerns regarding this paragraph with MU.

25. Subject to paragraph 24 above, details of the Winner’s surname and country will be made available to the public upon request from Manchester United Football Club Limited, Sir Matt Busby Way, Old Trafford, Manchester M16 0RA two weeks after the Closing Date (subject to data protection legislation).

General:

26. To the extent legally permissible, MU shall have no liability whatsoever to any entrants who purchase the Product and/or any space holder for any reasons whatsoever including, but not limited to:

(i) if the virtual meet and greet is cancelled or re-arranged;

(ii) if a space holder is refused access for failing to adhere to any applicable conditions;

(iii) a space holder cannot access the platform due to this being at full capacity; and/or

(iv) due to any technical failure or malfunction and/or any other problem with any network, server, system or otherwise which the video sharing platform selected by MU to host the meet and greet.

27. MU cannot guarantee that the system and/or service used to host the meet and greet and the meet and greet will be free from errors, omissions or that it will be available or uninterrupted at all times.

28. MU reserves the right to cancel or amend the Promotion or these terms and conditions without notice when reasonably necessary for the purpose of administering the Promotion.

29. The Promotion, together with these terms and conditions, is governed by the laws of England and Wales and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
