Following the launch, we spoke to eager supporters in the United Megastore at Old Trafford, and the general feeling was once more positive.

"[I like] the colour. The fact that it's got the red devil on it instead of the crest is a bit different," said Jack from Didsbury. "The contrast between the two colours, the burgundy red and the white.

"It's a bit different and nothing we've really had before in the past, and it stands out. I really like it."

"It's amazing," said Larutz, from London. "The red devils logo is the best thing about it.

"It's a bit different. It reminds me of back in the days and a little bit of the club culture.

"I'm always wearing long sleeves. It's a little bit more casual. I think you can fit this into a casual setting. It is a great look, the white shirt with the devil on. I think that's special."

Joe, who hails from Sheffield, purchased the authentic version of the new jersey for a heartwarming reason.

"It's not actually for me, it's for a friend in Thailand," he said. "I am flying out tomorrow and giving it to them there. This is the one they requested. They saw the video this morning, with Roy Keane and they really liked it. They wanted the [authentic] one too.

"Anything Manchester [United], she's obsessed.

"She just wants the shirt as it is. She likes the whites and I think she'd like the detail and the diagonal stripes as well."
