American goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce joined United from NWSL side OL Reign in September 2023, having begun her career in France with Stade de Reims. The 2024/25 campaign, following Mary Earps departure to Paris Saint-Germain, saw Tullis-Joyce instated as United’s primary goalkeeper, a role she stepped up to seamlessly, making it into the WSL Team of the Season, sharing the Golden Glove with Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton after 13 clean sheets and clinching our Players’ Player award. In April 2025, she was handed her first USWNT cap, keeping a clean sheet in a friendly against Brazil, and has gone on to pick up a handful more caps since, including in the SheBelieves Cup final, which ended with victory and a clean sheet against Colombia.
A fractured eye socket kept her out of action momentarily in 2025/26, but she recovered immensely to miss just three matches, and ended the campaign just one shut-out shy of Hampton for a second shared Golden Glove.
The certified deep-sea diver did, however, take home the WSL's Champion of Change award, recognising her work for the environment and in the local community.
