What's Garnacho's favourite United goal?

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has revealed which of his goals for the Reds he enjoys the most, having recently signed a new contract at the club.

Garnacho made his debut for United against Chelsea in the Premier League in April 2022, and since then, the youngster has become a big fixture for Ten Hag’s men, making 31 appearances in all competitions this season so far, scoring four goals and creating five assists.

The exciting winger has not featured for the Reds since getting injured during our 0-0 draw with Southampton in March, but 18-year-old signed a new contract at the club last Friday following his impressive campaign.

After putting pen to paper on a new deal, Alejandro sat down with MUTV's Mark Sullivan for an exclusive club interview, and he was asked to name the standout moments from season so far.

"This season I’ve been involved in some great games," he began.  "Some not quite so good, but all of them high tempo and very intense.

"My favourite game was the one here at Old Trafford against Manchester City. I’d never experienced an atmosphere like it at any ground.

"I came on with us one-nil down and we managed to come back. I was able to provide an assist for Rashford for the winning goal and without a doubt, that was the favourite game of my life, ever."

Garnacho's first senior goal for United came in our 1-0 Europa League group-stage win away at Real Sociedad in November.

He has since notched crucial efforts against Fulham and Leeds United (in the Premier League) as well as a super finish in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup, versus West Ham.

When asked to identify which of these strikes was his favourite, Alejandro opted for that stunning curler against the Hammers.

Alejandro Garnacho raised the roof with this strike at Old Trafford, curling his effort past Areola to make it 2-1...

"I’m going to pick the last one I scored, which was against West Ham," he said. "I’d played the whole game and I was feeling a bit tired but I was playing well.

"The manager had decided to keep me on the field and hadn’t substituted me. I’d shown enough in order to stay on the field to the end of the match.

"It was to make it 2-1 in the 90th minute to go through to the next round of the FA Cup. And now we’ve made to the final and we’re going to fight hard to win it."
