Andreas Pereira has won his maiden award as a Manchester United first-team player, with his stunning leveller against Southampton topping our Goal of the Month poll by a huge margin.

Fifty-three per cent of fans voting on our Official App declared him the winner of our March accolade, after watching eight shortlisted strikes from the senior side, women's team, Under-23s and Under-18s.

The Reds were trailing 1-0 at Old Trafford, following Yan Valery's first-half opener, when Andreas received Diogo Dalot's short pass and bent a brilliant long-range shot past Angus Gunn into the top right-hand corner at the Stretford End. This ultimately teed up the Reds for a thrilling 3-2 comeback win, with Romelu Lukaku's double sandwiching James Ward-Prowse's late effort.

Video: Andreas talks about his award-winning goal.
"I saw Diogo, he played me the ball, I looked to my left and I saw Luke running up," Andreas told us, recalling the build-up to his award-winning goal.

"The defender came to me and I wanted to pass to Luke, but it felt so good on my right and I just went for it. I used the defender as a guide and I whipped it around him. I didn't see the ball going in, I just went off the [reaction of the] crowd and it was an explosion of emotions. It was crazy, an unbelievable feeling."
Andreas revealed he'd prepared for his big moment by polishing up his shooting prowess at the Aon Training Complex.

"One day before, I was practising with Lee [Grant]. I put four shots, exactly the same, in the top bin so I felt confident and I went for it."

Congratulations, Andreas, and here's to more goals like it.
