Manchester United Women defender Aoife Mannion has shared an update on her fitness while in France with the Reds, as Marc Skinner’s side prepare for the AMOS French Women’s Cup final against Bayern Munich.

The 26-year-old suffered an ACL injury in March 2022 and has been making steps towards recovery ever since.

The defender posted a training video on Twitter on Thursday afternoon, giving supporters an insight into her rehab as she started to push on the training pitch.

The clip was accompanied with the words:

“Hello team I’ve progressed onto accelerations & decelerations - hope you like this snippet of what I did today. We’re at the meatier end of the rehab now. Foundations have been laid, starting to feel really athletic again.”

As well as running and impact training, Mannion has also been working with a football again.

In the video, the defender participates in a fast-paced drill, and she tweeted the words: “Started to do more intense technical ball work #ACLrehab”

United supporters will no doubt be thrilled to see the defender’s recovery progressing well, and Mannion has been an avid supporter of the Reds as Skinner’s side progressed to the final of the pre-season tournament in Toulouse.
