Ronaldo's short but impactful message to fans

Tuesday 19 October 2021 20:31

Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo is clearly in the mood for Wednesday’s Champions League night at Old Trafford, judging by his short but impactful message to supporters.

The Reds are preparing to host Group F leaders Atalanta beneath those iconic floodlights inside the Theatre of Dreams and know that a victory would put us in a much stronger position.

Ronaldo experienced plenty of memorable European nights in M16 during the first part of his iconic United career and the no.7 started a new chapter late last month, when scoring a dramatic late winner in the 2-1 success over Villarreal.

You can watch the highlights of that game below.

Who wouldn’t want to watch extended highlights of Wednesday’s dramatic late win…

This Wednesday’s fixture against Atalanta is particularly important after United suffered a frustrating 4-2 defeat to Leicester City at the weekend and the squad is determined to bounce back.

So far this season, the Reds have not clicked into gear on a consistent basis but nobody is panicking yet: this group of players is working harder than ever to repay our faithful supporters.

On the eve of our midweek match, Ronaldo used his official Instagram account to share this bullish message with our fans.

“Our time is coming!” writes Cristiano to his 357million followers.

“We have to show what we are made of and the Champions League is the perfect competition to prove ourselves to the world.

“No excuses! Let’s go!”

RONALDO'S RECORD V ATALANTA

Cristiano faced our Italian opponents on six occasions during his three-season spell with former club Juventus.

In a mark of their quality, Ronny and his Juve team-mates only achieved one victory in that run, also drawing four times and losing once.

CR7 has scored three times against La Dea and, memorably, his only win against them came in the Coppa Italia final last May.
