How Ronaldo and the squad reacted on social media

Cristiano Ronaldo scored Manchester United's decisive third goal in our stunning UEFA Champions League comeback win over Atalanta.

After the incredible 3-2 victory under the floodlights at the Theatre of Dreams on Wednesday night, Ronaldo used social media to share his thoughts and emotions after another special European occasion at Old Trafford.

"Yes! The Theatre Of Dreams is on fire," he wrote in a Twitter post.

"We are alive! We are Man. United and we never give up! This is Old Trafford!"

Ronaldo's team-mates also reacted on social media after the dramatic victory. Bruno Fernandes and David De Gea praised United's fighting spirit after the comeback win.

Luke Shaw, who put in the cross for Ronaldo's winner, and goalscorers Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford all emphasised how special the Theatre of Dreams is on European nights under the floodlights.

From two goals behind at the break, United pulled of a classic comeback to beat the Italian outfit. Rashford cored to half the deficit in the 53rd minute before Maguire  scored an equaliser with 15 minutes left to play.

There was a magical feeling in the air and, in the 82nd minute, Old Trafford went wild as the turnaround was complete. Ronaldo rose highest to meet a delightful Shaw cross with a magnificent header to make it 3-2. The win secured three vital points in Group F and the Reds now top the table.

This was, of course, the second time in two Old Trafford outings in this season's Champions League that Ronaldo has found a late and dramatic winner to earn three points in the group stage. The 36-year-old also scored the winner against Villarreal, that time in the 95th minute.

Since returning to Manchester, our no.7 has found the back of the net six times, with three of them coming in European competition and three of them being scored in the Premier League. We're sure there's plenty to come from Ronaldo as well!
