Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani could make his return from injury in Saturday's Premier League match against Norwich City.

The Uruguay international has overcome tendon problems and is pushing hard to be included in the squad for the trip to East Anglia.

A late decision will be taken on the centre-forward, who will be hoping to make a first appearance under interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

Ralf reveals a fresh doubt ahead of Saturday's teatime encounter at Norwich City.

Although Cavani could feature, there will be no Raphael Varane or Anthony Martial on show at Carrow Road, but they should be available before the end of the year.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Nemanja Matic are doubts while Paul Pogba is still sidelined but has had a conversation relating to his recovery with the boss.

When asked by MUTV's Stewart Gardner if we can count upon some of the absentees for the busy festive period, Ralf said: "Yes, very much so. Tomorrow's game, the only possible candidate might be Edi. We have to wait and see.

"He was training with the team yesterday and a couple of days before that so we have to wait and see how he feels today.

"For Rapha, the game comes too early. He was out a couple of weeks and we need to make sure he stays fully fit for the next couple of months, until the end of the season.

"So we don't want to rush him too much. I am very positive, in the next couple of weeks, he will be available.

When asked about Paul Pogba, Ralf revealed he has been in contact with the Frenchman...

"With Anthony," Rangnick continued. "We'll wait and see. It's a question of pain and how tolerable the pain will be on his knee but, for tomorrow, he won't be one of the players who is available."

The home side will be without Brandon Williams, due to the rules regarding his loan move from Old Trafford.
