Manchester United's FA Youth Cup fifth round clash at home to Everton will be played on Wednesday 9 February (19:00 GMT) at Old Trafford.

The Under-18s secured progression to this stage with victories at home to Scunthorpe United in December and away to Reading in January.

Managed by lead coach Travis Binnion, United showed a ruthless steak in the fourth round in Berkshire as Kobbie Mainoo, Sam Mather and Charlie McNeill scored to earn a three-goal first-half lead. Reading got a deserved consolation late on but it was a comfortable victory for the Reds.

In the third round, Alejandro Garnacho lit up Old Trafford with an acrobatic finish in front of the Stretford End. Further goals came from Mather, Maximillian Oyedele and McNeill in a 4-2 win against Scunthorpe.

THE OPPOSITION

Everton are a fellow Under-18 Premier League side, with United hosting the Toffees only 18 days ago. A Joe Hugill brace and goals from Sonny Aljofree and Garnacho secured a 4-2 win for United in an entertaining fixture at Carrington.

Paul Tait's Everton team triumphed 2-1 over Sheffield United to secure their place in the FA Youth Cup fifth round. Goals came from Francis Okoronkko and Stanley Mills. Prior to beating Sheffield United, Everton overcame Fulham 3-2, with Okoronkko scoring again, as he did in our league fixture. The other two goals came from Mills.

The Merseysiders have won the tournament on three occasions (1965, 1986 and 1998) and finished runners-up four times (1961, 1977, 1983 and 2002).
