Sunday 11 June 2023 13:35

Manchester United had plenty of memorable Premier League outings during our 2022/23 campaign, but one stood out above the rest.

We selected five of our favourite fixtures - all of which were played at home - and put the question to you, the fans, with a resounding winner claiming half of the vote.

Our 2-1 victory over rivals Manchester City garnered a staggering 50 per cent of the votes, while a similar 2-1 win over Liverpool came in at second with 18 per cent.

They were followed by triumphs over Arsenal (14%), Chelsea (12%), and Tottenham Hotspur (6%).

After suffering a heavy defeat to City earlier in the season, in the reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium, the Reds descended on the Theatre of Dreams determined to put things right for the Old Trafford faithful.

Even when Jack Grealish opened the scoring for the visitors on the hour mark, we stuck to the plan.
Nearly 20 minutes later, Bruno Fernandes swept home beyond Ederson to get us back on level terms.

And soon after, second-half substitute Alejandro Garnacho provided the perfect pass across the penalty area for Marcus Rashford to convert the eventual game-winning goal.

With a comeback at the Stretford End and two Academy graduates combining for the late winner, it’s clear to see why the derby triumph is a fan favourite from this season.

We also asked for your say on United's best cup tie of 2022/23 via a separate poll on ManUtd.com and the United App, which our 2-1 win at home to FC Barcelona in the second leg of the Europa League knockout play-off won with a resounding 58 per cent.

The Carabao Cup final against Newcastle came in at second, as we picked up our first trophy of the Erik ten Hag era with a 2-0 victory at Wembley.

Thank you to everyone who voted.
