May's Goal of the Month decided
Casemiro has scooped our final Goal-of-the-Month award, in recognition of May's acrobatic strike at Bournemouth.
The away clash at the Vitality Stadium was an important one in terms of clinching Champions League qualification and Case's brilliant goal proved decisive on the day, earning a precious 1-0 win, while Liverpool were held at home by Aston Villa.
It means a double for the Brazil international, who was also voted our Player of the Month, in the final individual vote of the 2022/23 campaign.
The airborne volley, set up by Christian Eriksen's delightful through ball, comfortably beat off competition to land the accolade. Last summer's signing from Real Madrid reacted smartly to fire high into the net past Cherries keeper Neto, a fellow countryman of our no.18.
Alejandro Garnacho's clincher against Wolves and Bruno Fernandes's effort against Fulham finished in second and third place respectively, in our poll on ManUtd.com and in the United App.
Casemiro's United team-mate Raphael Varane certainly approved of the strike, even selecting it as his Goal of the Season.
"It's difficult to say like that but, I don't know, maybe the goal from Casemiro," the Frenchman told us.
"The Bournemouth one. From him, it was very special."
However, the fans decided that the Goal of the Season was Antony's Europa League winner against Barcelona.
Thank you to everybody who voted in all of our monthly polls, across the season.
