Manchester United's 2023/24 home shirt. Everyone is talking about it.

At first glance, the black detailing on the red base jumps out at you, with the white adidas and TeamViewer logos contrasting beautifully to complete a very sharp kit indeed.

But when you look a little bit closer, key details begin to become clear, ahead of United's 2023/24 campaign.

NO 'ADIDAS' WRITING

The adidas logo on the new United shirt features no reference to the name of the brand itself, with the usual trisected triangle sitting on the right side of the chest.

This is applied across all of adidas's kits in 2023, with the likes of Argentina's World Cup-winning strip also having the same brand logo.

THE SECOND ROSE

Our 2023/24 home shirt has gained much attention for the subtle geometric red rose print that has been worked into the base, a nod to the industrial heritage of Manchester.

What supporters may not have perhaps noticed is the second rose that features on the strip. At the back of the shirt, on the inside, another geometric design of the same flower sits proudly, ensuring the history of the region is ingrained within, as well as being outwardly visible.

SUBTLE RED ASPECTS

Have you seen the white shorts and black socks that accompany the striking red home shirt? They go together like bread and butter.

On the shorts, outlined by the same black strip that runs down the bottom of the shirt, the adidas logo is red.

The socks, on the other hand, feature a prominent red devil on the front, a cool addition that adds character to an already eye-catching kit.

A NOD TO THE '80S AND '90S

Gone is the collar of 2022/23, and back is the overlapping neckline that was last seen on an adidas United home strip back in the 1991/92 season.

Retro kit lovers will be huge fans of our new shirt, with the strips of black white and red echoing some of our most famous adidas kits of the '80s.

You can almost imagine the likes of Bryan Robson and Arthur Albiston donning this strip back in those days.

LONGER SLEEVES, LONGER STRIPES

Last season, if supporters opted for the long-sleeve version of our home shirt, the adidas stripes would stop at the shoulders and arms would be only base red.

However, for 2023/24, that isn't the case. Adidas's iconic three stripes continue down to the wrist on the long-sleeve version, where cuffs have a similarly retro feel to the neckline.

There are blocks of plain red on the sleeves, where the logo of sponsors DXC, and the Premier League - or Champions League - badges sit, but the black stripes continue below all the way down the length of the arm.
