The passion of our new clubs was perfectly captured when a video of our Uganda Supporters’ Club went viral oftheir members praying for the club and team ahead of the first match of the season versus Fulham in late August.
Our community of Manchester United supporters’ clubs (MUSCs) continues to grow and enables fellow Reds to connect and share in their love of United. From early morning match screenings, group trips to Old Trafford and community meet-ups, MUSCs are directly affiliated with the club and benefit from exclusive access to United via experiences, exclusive content and events.
Saumil Dave, MUSC-Ahmedabad, said:
“For a city known as the Manchester of the east due to its cotton industry and working-class roots, everyone in Ahmedabad has heard of Manchester since a very young age. And many of us have followed Manchester’s most famous modern export – Manchester United – for close to two decades.
“Being affiliated with the club in an official capacity means so much to MUSC-Ahmedabad. The club has been a huge part of our day-to-day lives and the values of hard work, never giving up till the last minute and coming back stronger than ever after a setback are ingrained amongst many of us. Even during tough seasons the support back home never wavers, because sticking together and fighting for each other is an inherent part of the club’s values.
“The bond and the connection has only gotten stronger with time and we have had many new supporters from Ahmedabad and surrounding areas joining us lately. Becoming official will allow us greater visibility and many United fans back home will feel represented. We have had dozens of inquiries about visiting Old Trafford soon and becoming official has helped us become more organised, visible and connect with more United fans.”
United reaches 300 supporters’ clubs milestone
ArticleOur global network continues to expand, as we look to deepen the connection between fans and the football club.
Muhwezi Gerald, Uganda MUSC, said:
“As official Manchester United Supporters’ Club members, we’re proud to join the global family of fans, accessing exclusive benefits like merchandise offers and matchday tickets. Potential partnerships with the club for charitable initiatives in Uganda are also exciting.”
Carly Lyes, Local MUSC, said:
“Ever since the club first moved here 114 years ago, this part of Manchester has had a thriving, diverse, creative community with the club at its heart. For us fans who live immediately around Old Trafford, having the club on our doorstep is a source of immense pride. We live and breathe United every day. A lot of changes have happened at the club in recent years, and we know that more are still to come. We want to ensure that local fans remain at the heart of the club, and that the club and the community are working together for the benefit of everyone in the area.”
Introducing your new Fan Reps
ArticleThree United supporters have been appointed to the Fans' Forum.
Rick McGagh, Director of Fan Engagement, said:
“We are delighted to welcome 20 new clubs to our family of official supporters' clubs. We look forward to working with them, and their members, to improve their experience and to bring more communities together across the world.
“It is incredible, and sums up the love for this football club, to be announcing clubs that literally span the globe – with our local residents in M16 starting a club at the same time as our Reds in New Zealand.
“I would encourage any fan who is considering joining a supporters' club to do so, or if you are thinking about starting a new one then get in touch and we can help you join the United family.”
