Manchester United captain Harry Maguire scored following a Luke Shaw corner as England beat Hungary on Thursday.

The Reds duo combined for a fine goal to send England three ahead midway through the second half in Budapest. Our left-back whipped in a precise set-piece and our club captain rose highest to head home in the 69th minute.

The bullet header was Maguire's fifth for England in his 38th international appearance. Shaw continues to show his attacking threat and continued his impressive England form from EURO 2020, in which he scored in the final. The Reds duo also put in a solid defensive display as the Three Lions clinched three points with a 4-0 win.

Before Maguire headed in England's third, Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane had put Gareth Southgate's men two in front. Declan Rice scored their fourth from range with a driven strike three minutes from time.

Jesse Lingard came on in the 84th minute and played the final minutes for England. Jadon Sancho was unavailable for Thursday's clash following a small knock.

The Three Lions go again on Sunday 5 September when Andorra visit Wembley. England top their World Cup qualification group with four wins in four matches so far.

Meanwhile, Victor Lindelof captained Sweden for the first time on Thursday and what a memorable night it was for our no. 2. The yellow and blue beat Spain 2-1 in Stockholm to claim three vital points in their quest for World Cup qualification.

David De Gea was not involved for Spain as he watched the game from the bench.
