Hinata Miyazawa wins Asian Cup with Japan
United midfielder Hinata Miyazawa will return to Manchester as an Asian Cup winner, following Japan’s 1-0 victory over holders Australia on Saturday.
Miyazawa started the final in Sydney and played the full 90 minutes of the clash for the trophy, attended by almost 75,000 fans.
In a meeting between two of the pre-tournament favourties, Australia struggled to break down a strong Japan side, who calmly managed the game after Maika Hamano’s decisive goal in the 17th minute.
'Hini, Hini, Hini!'

Miyazawa, who has missed our last two games plus Saturday's meeting with Everton due to her participation in the tournament, has proved key to Japan’s third Asian Cup title.
The 26-year-old featured in all six games, while providing three goals and two assists on their route to victory.
That included netting a hat-trick in her nation's dominant 11-0 win over India in the group phase. A strong start to the match saw her score two in quick succession, before adding a third to complete her treble in the 81st minute.
The impressive midfielder had featured in all 32 of our matches this term before her departure for Australia.
She was rewarded with a new long-term contract in December, just months after hitting 50 appearances for us, in September's 5-1 away win at London City Lionesses.
Fans will be eager to see our no.20 return, with some big games ahead, including the visits of Bayern Munich and Manchester City to Old Trafford before the end of March.
Congratulations, Hini - we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
