Benjamin Sesko celebrates with Diogo Dalot.

How Dalot has been helping Sesko

Tuesday 17 February 2026 10:21

Benjamin Sesko says Diogo Dalot has been a big help when it comes to adapting to life at Manchester United.

The pair have been as thick as thieves around Carrington, since Sesko’s arrival from RB Leipzig last August.

Dalot is the second longest-serving player in the current squad, behind Luke Shaw, and has established himself as a senior figure in recent seasons.

Sesko, who is four years younger than the Portugal international, believes Diogo is passing on the knowledge learned from his own early days, as a teenager, in Manchester.

“With Diogo Dalot like from the start he was really helping me, he was really trying to help me in all the ways, because obviously it's a different world here,” said Ben, when speaking to the Inside Carrington podcast.

“I'm really grateful that he stood up and he saw his younger self in me, you know?

“We are still pushing every day and doing all the work that's possible.”

Dalot isn't the only dressing-room influence though, according to Sesko.

The Slovenian was keen to point out the tight-knitted nature of the group, and how that is starting to bear fruit on the pitch.

Ben's purple patch in front of goal - five goals since the turn of the year - has coincided with our uptick in form under Michael Carrick.

“There is a couple of couple of guys, definitely. I think it's just it's more or less everyone.

“Obviously they do it in different ways, but we always try to find a way to do it as a group, together.

“I think that's why you can also see it on the pitch.”
