How to watch and follow Bristol City v United Women

Saturday 25 November 2023 14:36

Manchester United Women return to WSL action against Bristol City on Sunday (kick-off 12:30 GMT), as we look to extend our solid start to the season.

Marc Skinner's side have lost just one match domestically so far this season, a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at Old Trafford, with our clash against the Robins presenting a chance to climb as high as third in the table this weekend.

Our last outing resulted in a 1-0 success at Prenton Park against Liverpool in midweek, with Nikita Parris's fine strike sealing a second win of the season in the Continental Tyres League Cup.

Ahead of the trip to Ashton Gate, here's everything you need to know regarding tickets, players to watch and more...

WHAT'S THE TEAM NEWS?

United still remain without injured trio Emma Watson, Gabby George and Jessica Simpson, who are all sidelined for an extended period of time.

Aoife Mannion wasn't involved against Liverpool in midweek and it remains to be seen whether the 28-year-old will return this weekend.

For Bristol City, Rachel Furness and Satara Murray have been ruled out of the clash.
HOW ARE BRISTOL CITY FARING SO FAR?

After gaining promotion to the WSL last season, Lauren Smith's side have endured a difficult start to the new campaign, winning just one of their opening seven matches.

They were beaten 3-0 by Spurs last time out in the Conti Cup at Brisbane Road, with Rosella Ayane netting twice in the victory for the hosts.

Having beaten West Ham United in their only victory of 2023/24, Ella Mae Florence Powell, Brooke Aspin and Amalie Thestrup saw the Robins triumph 3-2.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS AGAINST BRISTOL CITY

United and Bristol City have faced off three times in our history, with the Reds winning on two occasions.

Ebony Salmon's goal back in January 2020 was enough for City to claim all three points during the 2019/20 WSL season, as we eventually finished fourth in the table.

United soon exacted revenge in a 6-1 success, with Leah Galton (two), Tobin Heath (two), Millie Turner and Jess Sigsworth all netting in our last domestic meeting.

We followed that up with a 1-0 win to claim a domestic double later that season, with Yana Daniels putting through her own net for the only goal of the game.
