The new edition of the club’s official monthly magazine, Inside United, goes on sale today, with milestone man David De Gea celebrated on the front cover.

The Spaniard stands proudly centre-stage, with a big ‘500’ in the background to salute his recent appearance landmark, racking up five centuries’ worth of United games.

Inside the magazine, De Gea's wide-ranging interview to mark the milestone is printed in full, with David talking about the mighty figure itself ("it's something crazy ... I’m super-proud"), the fans who have supported him all the way (“when they shout my name at Old Trafford or away, it’s unbelievable”), the mentality that has helped him last so long at the top (“be 100 per cent ready in the head – that’s massive for players, especially for the goalkeeper), and his determination to keep striving and saving (“now it’s time to keep doing more: more games, more clean sheets and help the team even more”).

The magnitude of the achievement is also put into context, with a profile of the ‘500 club’: the elite group of now 11 players (following David's landmark) in over 140 years of United history to have reached the mark of 500 competitive recorded first-team appearances for the Reds. The names on the list – Charlton, Giggs, Rooney et al – illustrate just what a significant accomplishment it is.

Besides De Gea, there’s a tremendous amount for United fans to get stuck into elsewhere in the magazine. Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay both feature, as does Erik ten Hag.

Defender Aoife Mannion and manager Marc Skinner also give inside views on what is shaping up to be a very exciting season for Manchester United Women.

There’s lots of football focus, with analysis of recent action on the pitch and previews of a glut of matches to come.

The magazine also features Academy insight, fans’ views and an entertaining exploration of United’s crossover into the music world down the years (from Morrissey to Come on You Reds… or even Burke and Jerk, anyone?).

The November issue of Inside United is not to be missed, and is on sale now in retailers, in the Megastore and around Old Trafford on matchdays (at a special discounted price if you buy it with the matchday programme – ask for the ‘double deal’).
