Daniel James sits down during his Inside United interview.

James: "United fans are our 12th man"

Daniel James has been blown away by the level of support shown by Manchester United fans in his short Reds career so far.

In an exclusive interview in the new issue of Inside United magazine – on sale from today (Tuesday) – the Wales winger reflects on his goalscoring feats in front of the Old Trafford faithful and says that the backing of the fans is going to be vital during the season ahead.

“Coming out to Old Trafford on my starting home debut [against Crystal Palace] was amazing,” he says.

“You really feel it – I got goosebumps when I came out. The atmosphere was amazing. You hear them all game. The away fans at Wolves and the amount of people that come is amazing as well. You could say they were as loud as the home fans, and that’s something that’s going to be very important again this year – for them to be behind us and be our 12th player.”

The magazine also looks back on Harry Maguire's first month as a United player, and gets technical with Andreas Pereira in discussing his versatility across a number of different midfield roles.

There's plenty more besides for Reds fans to get stuck into, which you can do by buying the official club magazine in newsagents, at the Old Trafford Megastore, around the stadium at home games or online here.
