Manchester United youngsters Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are in contention for the 2024 Golden Boy award.

The dynamic duo came through the Academy together and followed up winning the FA Youth Cup by both scoring in the FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City last month.

It was a fitting way to end excellent domestic campaigns for the young Reds and has earned them a place on the long list of contenders for the best young player in Europe, as compiled by Italian publication Tuttosport.

Fans can vote here on the Golden Boy award.

Mainoo came on to good effect for England in the 0-0 draw with Slovenia at Euro 2024, his second outing of the tournament, as he continues to build his reputation on the global stage.

Garnacho has still to feature in the Copa America for Argentina but is likely to be given a chance to impress for the World Cup holders.

There is, of course, stiff competition for this individual trophy, though, which was won last year by England and Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham.

There are 100 names in the frame, and the voting is now open via Tuttosport's website.

Barcelona and Spain prodigy Yamine Lamal and Benfica's Portugal international Joao Neves are other prime contenders. The list will be reduced in October, before the announcement of the winner is due to be made in November.

Former holders of the trophy include Wayne Rooney (2004), Anderson (2008) and Anthony Martial (2015), while Paul Pogba lifted it during his first spell at Juventus in 2013.

Best of luck to Kobs and Garna - please get voting for our boys!
