Manchester United Under-21s will hit the EFL Trophy trail again next season.

Travis Binnion's side will gain valuable experience in the competition, as we come up against older opposition from the Football League.

Competing against senior players in rival stadiums can help accelerate development, and the youngsters selected for the three group games, all on the road, look sure to benefit.

United's fans have also embraced these fixtures in the past and provided noisy backing for the Academy prospects.

United's Director of Academy reflects on a successful 2023/24, culminating in Garnacho and Mainoo's FA Cup final goals.

Bristol Street Motors are sponsoring the 2024/25 competition, with Peterborough United, managed by Darren Ferguson, the current holders after beating Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley in last year's final.

The Reds have been placed into Group F, with the other three teams all based in Yorkshire.

Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers and Huddersfield Town will provide the opposition, with the dates of the games to be confirmed in due course, although the groups are due to commence in early September.
