Made in Manchester - Mason Collective

As time and culture progress, so do genres of music. We’re really excited to feature Mason Collective as a part of the Made in Manchester series in collaboration with adidas football, and to have had the chance to sit down and see what Manchester and United mean to the trailblazing trio.

Manchester is a city that is deeply rooted in music, it’s a part of our culture, but you already knew that. This city has produced some of the biggest and best there is, and there aren’t any plans to stop soon.

The group consists of Blair Suarez, Adam Myles and Omar Guedar, who have been brought together by their love of music, especially electronic and dance genres.

“Manchester United and the city of Manchester has inspired so much of what we do. As three kids who grew up in south Manchester and chased our dreams, we know there’s a certain kind of courage that only people from Manny are born with.”

We had Mason Collective down to Old Trafford recently.

The thing about the club that resonates the most with Mason Collective is the fearlessness that is ingrained into the club culture. “We’re always ready and we go for it. If we fall short, we get up and go again,” they said.

But it’s not just the vibes of the city that clicked with the group from a young age, it was Manchester United, too. “We’ve always seen United take care of their own, and put the next generation at the heart of the team.”

Mason Collective sees a lot of the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, and Scott McTominay in themselves, stating that they’re all just young people trying to do the best for their city.

Just like United, Mason Collective are determined to chase greatness and glory in everything that they do, the DNA of the club is all about winning together, and they hold that dear to their hearts. Constantly creating, constantly dreaming, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Having been to the Theatre of Dreams since all three were little, they’ve even given a nod to United in their name, as the ‘Collective’ in their name hails from them always being United, together. One final word they had to say was, “Being from Manchester isn’t just about showing courage, it’s about taking care of your community," which is a fitting way to end this piece on an exciting group of talented young artists from an equally as exciting city.

Be sure to check out the work of Mason Collective.
