Defences came out on top at the Emirates Stadium, as Arsenal and Manchester United shared the spoils in a goalless draw in the Premier League.

United kept a seventh Premier League clean sheet of the season, and it was the defenders who proved most popular in the Man-of-the-Match vote, conducted in our Official App after the game.

Goalkeeper David De Gea recorded a 150th shut-out of his Reds career, making a good save from Emile Smith Rowe midway through the second half.

The boss was pleased we controlled much of the game, but says we have to be more ruthless...

Luke Shaw also kept up his good recent form, and both players' performances were reflected in our poll, with De Gea receiving eight per cent of your nominations and Shaw 18 per cent.

Further forward, Bruno Fernandes (11 per cent), Paul Pogba (10 per cent) and Fred (nine per cent) kept the Arsenal defence on their toes, as United had the better of the chances in the game.

Ultimately, though, it was Aaron Wan-Bissaka who won our stand-out performer vote.

The 23-year-old made a match-high four tackles and four clearances, and his defensive solidity showed no signs of fading even after he picked up a yellow card just after the interval. He also clocked our fastest sprint in an energetic display.

Furthermore, Wan-Bissaka could have had an assist, providing the pinpoint cross from which Edinson Cavani went so close late on, and he was fully deserving of his maiden Man-of-the-Match award of the season, and his first since December 2019's 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
