Planning continues for fans' return to Old Trafford

Thursday 20 August 2020 09:00

The Premier League fixtures have been published for the 2020/21 season, with Manchester United kicking off on 19 September against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. The date is subject to change.

Our planning for the new season on and off the field continues. We are working with the Premier League, The Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, The Sports Ground Safety Authority and the local authorities on planning for a safe return of fans to matches at Old Trafford as soon as it is permitted, but it is clear that matches will be played behind closed doors until 1 October at the earliest.

These plans will be finalised once we have more information from the relevant authorities on social distancing requirements, the impact that will have on available capacity and a longer-term roadmap on when a return to full capacity may be possible. We are preparing for a large number of possible eventualities.
These factors will have an impact on us being able to maximise certainty for match-going fans. In due course, we will be in touch with fans to confirm:

· How and when ticket holders can access matches with reduced capacity, as well as any associated deadlines for Season Ticket holders and Executive Club members who have not yet renewed

· The processes for supporters who have renewed but are not able to attend matches due to any restrictions

· Health and safety guidelines for fans and details on the new procedures at the stadium to help control social distancing and support NHS Test and Trace.
