Ole reveals team news for Tottenham trip

Friday 29 October 2021 13:30

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided a fresh bulletin on his Manchester United squad, in advance of Saturday's Premier League clash at Tottenham.

The Reds were unchanged for last Sunday's defeat to Liverpool but, after a solid week of training with a large group at Carrington, the boss has plenty of options should he wish to make alterations to his starting line-up.

One player who could return is Raphael Varane, who is fit once again after missing each of our three matches since the international break.

The 28-year-old, signed in the summer from Real Madrid, picked up a groin injury during the UEFA Nations League final but has now recovered.

His France team-mate, Anthony Martial, is also back in the reckoning as he has regained his fitness in recent weeks.

In fact, the only absentee for Saturday's trip is Paul Pogba, who will miss the game through suspension.

Our no.6 was sent off midway through the second half during the defeat to Liverpool, for a foul on Naby Keita, and has been given a three-match domestic ban.

This means he will also sit out the upcoming league fixtures with Manchester City and Watford.

“Of course Paul is suspended but, apart from that, it’s a fully fit squad,” Solskjaer told reporters.

“Which is a very strange position to be in, to have 25 outfield players and five keepers training. Thirty men training this week, all fit.”

TOTTENHAM TEAM NEWS

Unlike United, Spurs had a game in midweek, with Lucas Moura's goal helping them edge past Burnley at Turf Moor in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

The Brazilian came on as a substitute for Bryan Gil, who had to leave the pitch early with a hamstring issue which could rule him out of Saturday's contest - Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to provide further information in his Friday press conference.

England Under-21 full-back Ryan Sessegnon hasn't featured in the Premier League yet this season and won't be ready in time for this one.
