FA Cup final kick-off time confirmed

Wednesday 26 April 2023 14:00

Manchester United's historic Emirates FA Cup final with neighbours City will kick off at 15:00 BST.

The first-ever Manchester derby in a major final is to be held at Wembley on Saturday 3 June and will be our last match of the 2022/23 campaign.

The previous FA Cup final that kicked off at 15:00 BST was back in 2011, when Man City beat Stoke City 1-0 thanks to a goal by Yaya Toure.

United progressed to the final last weekend via a tense penalty shootout win over Brighton & Hove Albion, in which Victor Lindelof converted the decisive spot-kick following Solly March's miss.

It set up what is undoubtedly one of the most-anticipated FA Cup finals in history.

The match will be broadcast in the UK on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, ITV, ITVX, UTV, STV and STV Player.

The FA has confirmed the winning and losing clubs in the final will receive £2 million and £1 million respectively from the competition's prize fund.

United are appearing in the showpiece occasion for the 21st time, matching Arsenal's record in the competition. We have lifted the trophy on 12 occasions, two behind the Gunners' haul of 14.

Our last success came in 2016, under Louis van Gaal, when Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard scored the goals in a 2-1 extra-time victory over Crystal Palace.

The Reds have already won the Carabao Cup and are aiming to do a domestic cup double for the first time in our history.

City, meanwhile, hope to repeat our famous Treble in 1999, as they meet Arsenal tonight (Wednesday) in a pivotal contest in the title race, before facing Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final.

If Erik ten Hag's side are victorious next month, we would also earn another trip to the national stadium by qualifying for the Community Shield at the start of 2023/24.

A reminder that Marc Skinner's side are also through to the Vitality Women's FA Cup final, which takes place at Wembley on Sunday 14 May against Chelsea, kicking off at 14:30 BST.
