Fans go wild as Big Pete and Edwin meet in Denmark
Herning has a population of just 50,000 people according to recent surveys, yet the Danish city counted two of the greatest goalkeepers in Manchester United and football history as guests on Tuesday.
Old Trafford giants Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar were both in town as FC Midtjylland hosted AFC Ajax in the UEFA Champions League, resulting in a 2-1 win for the visitors.
Much to the delight of United fans on social media, the legendary ex-Reds met in the street ahead of kick-off and posed for a selfie that lit up supporters’ timelines on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
