Dean Henderson gives the thumbs up during Sheffield United's win over Burnley

Loan Watch: Clean sheet for Henderson

Monday 04 November 2019 13:00

It was a great weekend for three of Manchester United’s on-loan players, as their sides recorded important wins in their various leagues.

Dean Henderson kept a fifth clean sheet of the season, as Sheffield United dispatched Burnley 3-0 to move up to sixth place in the Premier League table

The Blades struck three times in the first half at Bramall Lane to blow Sean Dyche’s side away, with John Lundstram netting a brace and John Fleck scoring his first top-flight goal.

In Italy, Chris Smalling’s Roma powered to a third consecutive win in Serie A, with goals from Nicolo Zaniolo and Jordan Veretout helping the Giallorossi to a 2-1 home victory over Napoli.
Chris's incredible intervention helped Roma to ultimately beat Napoli 2-1.
The centre-back played the full 90 minutes, with his personal highlight being an acrobatic goalline clearance to keep out Di Lorenzo's header from a free-kick when the score was still 1-0. Although Arkadiusz Milik did eventually pull one back for Napoli with 20 minutes to play, the capital club held out and are now third in Serie A.
In League Two, George Tanner's Morecambe are still occupying the only relegation place but secured an important 1-0 win at home to Leyton Orient, thanks to A-Jay Leitch-Smith's 74th-minute goal.

The United right-back helped The Shrimps to keep their third clean sheet of the campaign and they are now level on points with Stevenage in 23rd place.
George Tanner was on duty as Morecambe claimed a vital triumph in League Two.
Elsewhere in the Football League, Kieran O’Hara was in goal as Burton Albion battled to a 2-2 draw at Doncaster Rovers. Goals from David Templeton and Lucas Akins twice put the Brewers in front, but the home side fought back to secure a point that leaves Burton 13th in League One, albeit with games in hand on many of the teams above them.

Ethan Hamilton missed Southend’s 1-0 defeat at Sunderland through suspension, while Cameron Borthwick-Jackson was an unused substitute in Tranmere’s 3-1 win at MK Dons.

In Scotland, there was heartbreak for Joel Castro Pereira as his Hearts side were beaten 3-0 by Rangers in the Betfred Cup semi-final. Filip Helander finished smartly past Pereira to give the Gers a half-time lead, before Alfredo Morelos capped off the win with a second-half double.

Meanwhile, in Norway, Aidan Barlow scored for Tromso in their 3-2 loss at Sarpsborg.

Finally, Alex Fotijcek was in goal as non-league Stalybridge Celtic were defeated 1-0 at Radcliffe Borough.
