Numerous Manchester United players used social media to express their delight at Sunday’s 2-1 victory away to Everton at Goodison Park - and to celebrate the latest landmark in Cristiano Ronaldo's epic career.

Twitter and Instagram feeds were littered with messages of positivity after full-time as the Reds reflected on arguably the most characterful and complete team performance under Erik ten Hag so far.

Meanwhile, the praise for Ronaldo followed his 700th goal in club football, which proved to be the winning strike against the Toffees.

We've rounded up some of the top messages posted by our players after the important away triumph at Goodison Park...

DAVID DE GEA

Our no.1 made some important saves against Everton, particularly in the dying moments, when the hosts were throwing everything at the Reds to find an equaliser.

DIOGO DALOT

Dalot looked bright down the right again, as well as being defensively resilient, as his development under Ten Hag continues.

VICTOR LINDELOF

Our Swedish centre-back made a series of vital tackles and interceptions in what was his 200th appearance for the club, forming one quarter of the resilient United defence which repelled Everton’s late advances.

LISANDRO MARTINEZ

The Argentinian was as tenacious as ever against the Toffees and appeared to rile opposition striker Neal Maupay throughout. Lisandro later expressed his joy at the team's performance and result on Twitter.

LUKE SHAW

Back in the United side in place of Tyrell Malacia, Shaw put in a solid display at left-back, offering an impact at both ends of this pitch. The England international posted on Instagram after the vital victory on the road.

Shaw appeared to reference his new look in his Instagram post. "Good to have the hair back, 3 points."

CASEMIRO

Our Brazilian enforcer started his first Premier League match for the Reds at Goodison, and posted an image with Ronaldo following the match, after assisting our no.7’s match-winning goal in the first half.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN

Eriksen posted on Instagram after the match, accompanying an image of our team celebration with the simple caption “+3.”

Christian Eriksen on Instagram: "+3 @manchesterunited #ce14"

BRUNO FERNANDES

Our no.8's tweet on Sunday evening emphasised the team spirit in the United squad, a trait which Ten Hag praised in his MUTV interview after the match.

ANTONY

Our Brazilian winger scored his third goal in as many Premier League matches for the Reds, when he levelled proceedings in the first half. The summer arrival put in a display typical of what we have seen from him so far, before sharing his joy and thanking his team-mates on social media.

MARCUS RASHFORD

The Mancunian forward was unfortunate to see his effort ruled out in the second half, but he was full of praise for his team-mates and in particular, Ronaldo, after our no.7 hy yet another historic landmark with the 700th club goal of his career.

CRISTIANO RONALDO

As for the history-maker himself, Ronaldo simply declared his delight at another victory for his side.
