Reds learn Continental Cup opponents
Manchester United Women’s opponents for the 2022/23 Continental Tyres League Cup group stage have been confirmed.
Marc Skinner’s Reds have been drawn in Group A - as part of the Northern Section - and will face fellow WSL sides Aston Villa and Everton, as well as Championship clubs Durham and Sheffield United.
The competition begns in early October and our fixture dates and times will be released in due course.

United met three of this season's opponents during last term’s run to the semi-finals. We defeated Durham – on penalties – and Everton in the group stage before a quarter-final triumph at Arsenal.
Meanwhile, we will take on Sheffield United in a competitive fixture for the first time since our inaugural season. The Blades were our opening home opponents in the 2018/19 Championship, as the Reds won 3-0 at Leigh Sports Village before registering an emphatic 4-0 victory in the reverse, later in the campaign.

Topping the group will secure a place in the last-eight phase of the tournament, alongside the winners of the other four groups, and current WSL champions Chelsea.
The other two places in the quarter-finals will go to Arsenal and Manchester City automatically if they progress through the first two rounds of the Champions League.
If those clubs do not proceed beyond the second round in Europe, they will enter the Continental Cup at the group stage and their previously reserved spot(s) in the last eight will instead be taken by the runner(s)-up with the most points.
