Skinner: We need to be more ruthless
Marc Skinner has urged his Manchester United side to be more ruthless in the final third, following a dominant display against Everton on Saturday.
The Reds created a plethora of goalscoring opportunities but settled for a 1-0 victory with Leah Galton proving the difference maker.
“With the ball, I thought we were ruthless up until the final third and then we need to be a little bit more ruthless in the box,” Skinner told MUTV at full-time.
“But I can’t moan about the chances created.”

“We spoke at half-time about punishing them when they give us the ball, or when we force them to give us the ball,” he continued.
“I think we could have been a little bit better than that. But it’s about trying to get minutes in legs. As they get fitter they will be better at that.
“If we press like that, and set that standard throughout the whole season, then we’ll build on that stat from last year of being the best pressing team in the country.”

Despite some missed chances, Marc has been impressed with the attacking creativity the team has shown over our first two pre-season outings.
“It [pressing] creates chances and from there, we do need to continue to finish.
“But I have no doubt, the way that the players are creating, the way they are moving, the way they are interchanging, we’re going to create lots of chances and score loads of goals this year.”
