Rashford’s legacy continues to grow

Marcus Rashford epitomises Manchester United.

A hard-working local lad who is an inspiration, both on and off the pitch, Marcus has gone from strength to strength since making his first-team debut back in 2016.

The current season is his most productive on record, with 25 goals in all competitions, at the time of writing.

In scoring the second in our 2-0 Carabao Cup triumph over Newcastle United at Wembley, helping the Reds end a six-year wait for a trophy, he has firmly established himself as a key man in adding to United’s history.

It's officially Rashford's goal!

Marcus has been credited with the second strike in the Carabao Cup final.

The 2023 Carabao Cup was Marcus’s fifth trophy win for the Reds, following previous FA Cup, Community Shield and Europa League triumphs.

With United still competing in three different competitions, there is certainly scope for further growth in his accolades.

The England international will no doubt be eager to add to that tally, and under the tutelage of manager Erik ten Hag, Reds fans are starting to believe anything is possible.

Following the cup triumph, Rashford shared his joy and pride at having achieved so much at United already, with hopefully many more years ahead.

He posted soon after the match at Wembley: “The six-year wait is finally over. Today was a good day. Let's reset and go again! CARABAO CUP 2023”

Rashford also tweeted later that evening: “A moment you dream of all your life! Scoring for the club, you support in a cup final. That one is for the fans.”

Congratulations on yet another achievement with United, Marcus. Here’s to a bright future!

Marcus also responded to a video posted online showing an extravagant piece of skill during the first half of Sunday's success.

Describing the moment of magic as a "heel-to-heel flick", the homegrown star's wonderful technique on the big stage did not go unnoticed.
