Marcus Rashford's top performances for Manchester United in January have earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award.

The success continues a trophy-laden spell for our no.10 after he was voted the club’s Player of the Month by supporters, who also voted his sublime strike in the 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur as our Goal of the Month last weekend.

“It’s always good to pick up individual awards but I think the way we’ve performed as a team has been very good over the last few weeks," Marcus told us, when collecting his Premier League award. "The aim for us now is to just continue it, but we have to take it game by game and one step at a time.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Marcus Rashford have both won Premier League awards for January.

When asked to pinpoint one thing that's pleased him the most about his recent form, Rashford said: "I think the consistency. I’ve always said that’s the difference between the best players in the world and good players. In football, the fact that you can repeat it time and time again, season upon season, is the big difference between the two categories of players.

"Consistency is something you always want to improve and, for a young player, it can be difficult but I think over the last two months we’ve got it right."

Rashford's triumph completes an impressive double for United, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was also named January’s Premier League Manager of the Month.

Rashford scored three goals in six appearances during January and was twice voted our Man of the Match by supporters – against Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Marcus found the net in the 2-0 victory at Newcastle in our first game of 2019. He followed it up with the aforementioned winner at Spurs and then the decisive goal in the 2-1 win over Brighton at Old Trafford – on what was his 150th appearance for United in all competitions.

Our no.10 is the first United player to win the Premier League's monthly award since Zlatan Ibrahimovic in December 2016.
