Fans can't get enough of our Martinez and Mount clip

Both competitive players at the very top of the professional game, the intensity of Premier League football can often cause disagreements and confrontation.

But now tasked with fighting for the very same cause - success under Erik ten Hag - some fans may be blissfully unaware of the past history that makes their Carrington embrace that tad bit sweeter.

If we cast our minds back to United's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season, our new signing Mason and Licha got into something of a heated spat.

After receiving the ball on the turn from David De Gea, Martinez cleverly flicked the ball past the former Chelsea man, before the two engaged in an aggressive battle for possession by the touchline.

Following a good few seconds of back and forth, the Reds were eventually awarded a free-kick for Mount's wrongdoing, with Licha shoving our newest recruit away.

Mason however didn't take kindly to the matter, walking towards the United defender before England team-mate Luke Shaw intervened to quickly quell any potential spillover.

But with the pair now set to sport the same colours as one in 2023/24, the quarrels of old can only further benefit Ten Hag's side moving forward.

Both showed in that very moment exactly why supporters are bubbling with excitement for our new campaign to begin, with that passion and desire to win a perfect recipe for success.

It's clear Licha and Mason have quickly moved past it too, with photos emerging from Carrington of the United duo smiling whilst arm in arm and, no doubt, laughing about the confrontation.

Our no.6 also shared his delight regarding Mount's arrival in M16 and subsequent allocation of the famous no.7 shirt, commenting on his new team-mate's most recent Instagram post.

On Friday afternoon, we shared a clip from training that immediately went viral across social media, showing Licha embracing Mount for the cameras. 

The Argentina international says: "Come my brother. Before we fight, now we love each other."
