Action & reaction: United 3 Newcastle 1

Sunday 21 February 2021 22:55

Manchester United defeated Newcastle United 3-1 as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men returned to winning ways in the Premier League.

Marcus Rashford got the opener with a dazzling individual move on the thirty-minute mark, nutmegging a defender before cutting inside and striking past the visitors' goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

That lead only lasted six minutes however, as Allan Saint-Maximin found the net for the Magpies with a half-volley following a corner, to make the score level at the interval.

Daniel James put the Reds ahead again in the 52nd minute before Bruno Fernandes slotted in a penalty after Rashford was brought down in the box 15 minutes from time.

Watch extended highlights above, or the shorter version below where you can also find post-match reaction from Ole, Daniel, Marcus and debutant Shola Shoretire.
