How to follow Brighton v United

Wednesday 21 August 2024 07:00

Brighton & Hove Albion are our second opponents of the new Premier League season, as Erik ten Hag's side travel to the Amex Stadium for a lunchtime kick-off this Saturday.

The Reds and the Seagulls both started the 2024/25 campaign in the best way possible, with wins on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Joshua's Zirkzee's late goal earned victory over Fulham for United, before Brighton defeated Everton, 3-0 in their own backyard the following day.

Excitement is building towards Saturday's 12:30 BST kick-off already and, as we count down to our first away fixture of the new season, get all the info from broadcast details to early team news and more...

HOW CAN I WATCH THE GAME?

The lunchtime kick-off will be broadcast live on TNT Sports, with their coverage beginning 11:00 BST. You can follow build-up on MUTV - available on ManUtd.com and in our app - from 11:15 BST.

Our coverage includes exclusive opinion, interviews and stats, with radio commentary being provided over the course of the full 90 minutes. Following the full-time whistle, the United App and our website remain the primary destination for post-match analysis and reaction.

Highlights will be available to watch on our platforms from two hours after the game's conclusion, with 90 in 20 and Full-90 versions following on Sunday.

HOW DO THE SQUADS LOOK?

Erik ten Hag reported no fresh injury concerns from Friday's game. We confirmed last week that Luke Shaw will be unavailable, due to an injury sustained at the start of pre-season.

Tyrell Malacia continues his recovery, while Leny Yoro also remains out. Rasmus Hojlund suffered a hamstring problem in pre-season and Erik could give an update in his press conference this week.

New signings Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui made their debuts against Fulham, with fellow summer arrival Joshua Zirkzee coming on and scoring the winning goal.

Solly March is a long-term absentee for the Seagulls, with Pervis Estupinan, Bart Verbruggen, Evan Ferguson, Tariq Lamptey and Julio Enciso playing no part in their comfortable win over Everton on the first weekend of the new season.

New manager Fabian Hurzeler has made many new signings ahead of the 2024/25 campaign and one of them, winger Yankuba Minteh, featured at Goodison but picked up a knock.

UNITED AND THE SEAGULLS

The Reds and Brighton have met 33 times prior to this weekend, with United winning 20 of those matches.

Last time out at the Amex Stadium, Diogo Dalot and Hojlund were on the scoresheet in a 2-0 victory for Ten Hag's men, in our final league game of last term.

Former United forward Danny Welbeck is a familiar face in the Brighton ranks, with the 33-year-old scoring in the opening-day win over Everton.
