How to watch and follow United v Barnsley
Manchester United are set to enter the Carabao Cup fray on Tuesday at Old Trafford in our third-round tie against Barnsley.
The competition has proved a happy hunting ground for Erik ten Hag's side in the recent past, having lifted the trophy in his first season with the Reds, claiming the crown against Newcastle United in 2023.
United enter at the third stage due to our involvement in the Europa League — with Premier League sides not competing in Europe having entered in the last round — and do so after a quick turnaround following our impressive 3-0 victory away at Southampton.

TEAM NEWS
Both Leny Yoro and Mason Mount will be unavailable for the game as they continue their recoveries, but one long-term absentee, Tyrell Malacia, is nearing a return according to the boss.
It remains to be seen whether the Barnsley bout comes too soon for the full-back, with Luke Shaw and Rasmus Hojlund also working towards their returns. Ten Hag has, however, hinted that the pair, along with Mount, will miss Tuesday's game.
"We need everyone and hopefully players are returning," began the boss on Saturday following our victory over the Saints."It will not be the case for the next game, but hopefully in the next weeks they [Hojlund, Mount and Shaw] will return to the squad."
More information will be required from the manager on fresh concerns picked up in our win on the south coast, with Lisandro Martinez, Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt all leaving the St Mary's pitch in some discomfort.
Thankfully, De Ligt confirmed in his post-match interview that his issue seemed to just be cramp, but further updates on Martinez and Mazraoui could be delivered in the manager's pre-match press conference.

OPPOSITION FORM
Darrell Clarke's side have made a strong start to the 2024/25 season; only Mansfield Town, our young Reds and Stevenage have managed to beat them so far across all competitions.
To reach this third-round tie, the League One outfit overcame Wigan Athletic in the opening round on penalties, before bettering Championship side Sheffield United with a 1-0 win at Oakwell.
But they arrive at Old Trafford with amends to make to their supporters, coming off the back of a heavy 3-0 defeat at the hands of Stevenage in League One at the weekend.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Our senior side's last meeting with the League One outfit was in this very competition 15 years ago; that tie landing in the fourth round. Goals from forward pair Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen proved the difference at Oakwell that night, and current Reds defender Jonny Evans played a key role in keeping the clean sheet too.
This will be the second time the two clubs have met this season, but it was our Under-21s side who contested the first instalment in the group stage of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy. Travis Binnion's young Reds left South Yorkshire on that occasion with the win, thanks to a second-half comeback courtesy of Ethan Ennis and Jack Fletcher (two).
The last time the two senior teams met at the Theatre of Dreams was in the FA Cup in 1998; a 1-1 draw that ultimately lead to the Tykes progressing in the replay at their place.
That was one of three times the clubs faced each other during the 1997/98 season due to Barnsley's first-ever, and as yet only, appearance in the Premier League. The other Old Trafford bout that campaign, in October 1997, produced a convincing 7-0 win for United.
