Nemanja Matic believes a full pre-season is enabling him to be in top form for Manchester United.

The Serbian was singled out for praise by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his stylish performances in the friendlies before the action got under way and has featured in seven matches this term.

Always a calming influence in defensive midfield, he is pleased with his contribution thus far and, after getting plenty of work in at Carrington during the international period, he is ready and waiting for the call for the Leicester City game on Saturday.

"I think I’m playing well, every time I have the chance," he told United Review in an exclusive interview.

"Physically, I feel great. Of course, you always want to play more and more but the manager is the man who decides. I am always ready to play. I am happy to play, to help my team, and, yeah, I feel good.

"I had a fantastic pre-season, a full pre-season from day one. I am happy and motivated for the rest of the season."

When asked about his ability to make telling contributions going forward, as he did when assisting Jesse Lingard's winner at West Ham United recently, Nemanja stressed that he is always giving 100 per cent in order to help the team.

"I always try to do my best," he said. "Sometimes, of course, you play very good and, sometimes, not as good, but, as I said, I do my best and I think people will respect that."
