United Women at Old Trafford: One week to go

Saturday 18 March 2023 11:48

There are now just seven days to go until Manchester United Women take to the Old Trafford pitch once more, facing West Ham in a highly anticipated Barclays Women’s Super League match (17:30 GMT kick-off).

The Hammers were the opponents the very first time our women’s team played at the Theatre of Dreams, with the Reds triumphing over the London club in a match that had no spectators in attendance due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since then, Marc Skinner's side have played in front of supporters twice in M16, and maintained a 100 per cent record at the stadium.

The first of those matches, played in March 2022, was attended by over 20,000 supporters as United won 3-1 against Everton. We followed this up with a 5-0 demolition of Aston Villa back in December, in a game that saw more than 30,000 fans treated to a great spectacle.

You can be part of our next big day on home soil, as we look to continue that streak, with tickets available here.

Just under a week before the Old Trafford return, our women’s team have a Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-final clash against Championship outfit Lewes on Sunday. Kick-off in this weekend's tie is set for 12:30 GMT, and you can catch that one live on the BBC iPlayer in the UK, while updates will also be available in the United App and via @ManUtdWomen on Twitter.

The Reds will be looking to bounce back from the narrow 1-0 defeat away to league leaders Chelsea last Sunday, with the WSL title race really heating up.

The Reds remain in the running at the top of the table, and have reached the last-eight stage of the FA Cup, with Skinner's side working hard to lift silverware come the end of the season.

The clash with West Ham at Old Trafford is therefore another crucial game, and you could help roar United on to victory.

Tickets for the highly anticipated fixture are available here, with entry for adults £10 and £5 for concessions.
