Weghorst: We are all hungry for more trophies
Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst says everyone at the club is hungry to win even more trophies after February’s Carabao Cup win.
After booking our spot in the quarter-finals of the Europa League – where we will face Sevilla – the Reds are now looking to secure a place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup when we take on Fulham this Sunday.
But getting into the final four is just one step forward to reaching Wembley for the final, which is exactly where Weghorst wants to be.
“Of course, we want to be there,” he explains in an interview for United Review.

“The match against Newcastle [Carabao Cup final] at Wembley was a great experience - a lovely atmosphere in the stadium - it has something special.
“But, like I said, that’s what we want. We want to win trophies.
“The one we have now just showed us that we can do it again; we are all hungry for more, all of us."

The Dutchman believes there is ‘a feeling’ among the team of wanting to achieve even more during the current campaign.
“The FA Cup is definitely in our head to go to Wembley again, and not only play in the semi and the final, but to win it.”

Our no.27, who is currently on loan from Burnley, was captured taking in the sights and sounds of the historic Wembley ground following the full-time whistle against Newcastle that saw us lift our first trophy in six years.
“It was my first trophy,” he said. “When we won it and the trophy was ours, I took a moment to enjoy it and I saw the crowd. These are the moments you will remember, and that is why I did it.”

Weghorst continued: “I have worked for my whole career to reach the top, top level in the world.
“For me I notice now, our club – Manchester United – is definitely one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“I’m just proud and happy to be here.”
