One week before United play at Old Trafford
Manchester United are back on home turf, seven days from now, when taking on Lens at Old Trafford.
The pre-season friendly on Saturday 5 August offers the fans the opportunity to get behind Erik ten Hag's men as we eagerly anticipate the start of the 2023/24 campaign, his second term in charge.
Tickets are still available for the game against the French side, who were runners-up behind Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 last season.
The match provides a chance to fine-tune things in preparation for our big kick-off, a home match against Wolves on Monday 14 August.
The squad fly back from the United States after the final Tour 2023 game against Borussia Dortmund (02:00 BST, live on MUTV), and will then have a spell training at Carrington before the double-header over the weekend of 5/6 August.
Ten Hag is likely to split his squad, as he did at this point last year, as we also meet Athletic Club in Dublin.
Both matches are live on MUTV and this will provide clues and hints as to how United are going to approach the upcoming campaign.
We should see new signings Andre Onana and Mason Mount in action, while a number of youngsters have taken their opportunity to impress so far. Raphael Varane is expected to feature against the club where he started his career, before switching to Real Madrid.
Lens have beaten Dijon and Sochaux in their most recent friendlies, and it should be an entertaining affair, as well as the chance to show support to the team.
