Pogba still hopes to play again this season

Paul Pogba has posted on social media to insist he could return from injury before the end of the season.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick had admitted on Friday that he feared the France international would be out for around a month with a calf problem sustained during the early stages of the midweek defeat to Liverpool.

Consequently, it was felt he might not be fit again until after the final day of the Premier League season, when the Reds are due to play at Crystal Palace.

"Absolutely gutted to not be able to help the team in today's game," Pogba said, in relation to the match at Arsenal.

"I will work even harder to come back stronger and, hopefully, before the end of the season. It's not over."

Pogba's current contract, signed when he rejoined the club from Juventus in 2016, is due to expire in the summer.

The 29-year-old looks certain to miss the home games with Chelsea and Brentford but appears to still have some hope that he could return before the campaign is out.
