Manchester United Women bolstered our goalkeepers' union on WSL deadline-day, with the arrival of American shot-stopper Phallon Tullis-Joyce.

Joining the Reds from NWSL outfit OL Reign, the keeper is relishing in the chance to play for United.

“I was honestly shocked!” Phallon told club media, reliving the day she got the call to say we were interested in securing her services.

“I couldn’t believe such a historic club - a club in the women’s game that has already done so much - and is already proving to be so successful [were interested].

New recruit Phallon Tullis-Joyce tells club media exactly what fans can expect from her...

“I was just so honoured to even get that call and that opportunity.

“It is just even better to be here in person too.”
The competitiveness of the Women’s Super League is among the many things that has drawn Phallon to this side of the pond once more.

“The quality of [football] is just top, even just watching these pre-season games that have already happened, the level is already so high.

“I can’t wait to see where it is during the season.”
Phallon will sport the no.91 shirt for United.
The 26-year-old is eager to get to know all of her team-mates, but particularly enthused at the prospect of learning from Mary Earps.

“It goes without saying, what an incredible career [she is having], [including] an incredible achievement at the World Cup.

“I’m definitely looking forward to training with her and [to] pick some knowledge off her.”
